More than atmospheric light
Dynamic Light is the innovative light strip of a premium car brand that runs through the entire interior of its top models, among others. It not only creates special lighting moods in the vehicle, but also communicates safety-relevant information. For example, the Active Blind Spot Assist warns of an impending collision with a red light animation. The light strip consisting of many individual LEDs positioned close together is invisible as long as it is switched off. When the Dynamic Light is switched on, a strip of light appears. The individual LEDs are controlled in real time. This allows fluid displays, a smooth transition and, in addition to the individual colors, color gradients for the first time.

When a fascinating new technology is developed for luxury cars, our testing experts are never far away. Despite all their experience with different projects, it is still the new, the unknown that excites our engineers.
As with the Dynamic Light System, where we have to deal with particularly long plastic components during assembly: Individual circuit boards are pressed together with connecting elements. This is done with a certain force, which we monitor during production using force-displacement measurement. This ensures that the connections do not come loose later in the vehicle due to vibrations.

Top-class level via artificial intelligence
The Dynamic Light of the luxury class models differs from the other versions in terms of quality. The challenge here was to ensure that no particles were visible on the light strip when illuminated in the vehicle. Due to its multilayer structure, consisting of an upper cover, light guide and diffusing lens, it is more susceptible to contamination with dirt particles during production. This is why we clean the components with ionized air during the assembly process to ensure they are largely particle-free. This is checked by an AI module in the system that we have specially trained. This artificial intelligence records every single particle, no matter how small, for evaluation, which determines whether the strict quality specifications have been met.
Everything thought of right from the start - right up to traceability
We develop as many components and software modules as possible ourselves. This increases efficiency in implementation and is advantageous for our customers. In the case of the Dynamic Light line, we developed the final testing device ourselves, as well as the software and the programmable logic controller (PLC). And we have ensured optimum traceability. This means that no strip light can slip through if it has not performed perfectly on all 350 test characteristics.

- Colorimetry and color matching of the LEDs: Evaluation of the product color based on the color space
- High-voltage measurement and 800 volt test on the component while driving
- Evaluation of multiple image recordings via IP cameras
- Fully automatic alignment of the evaluation points to the product position in order to compensate for mechanical position deviations

- Checking the product-side voltage measurement, inline and batch-dependent
